Regarding the tappets, (also known as valve lifters), there are most two types, the mechanical and the hydraulic. While mechanical tappets are stiff and, over time, end up creating a small amount of play between the valve stem and tappet, hydraulic tappets reduce that play to a minimum. XR-automotive’s tappets can be classified into several types. we have further refined our tappet classifications based on appearance.

Currently, we offer a variety of hydraulic tappets (hydraulic valve lifters) :

Notably, we provide custom high-performance tappets with link bar for RETROFIT RACING. We also have spring-loaded tappets (VL-1136), as well as tappets designed for MDS (Multi-Displacement System) and non-MDS tappets applications.

For mechanical tappets, we have standard mechanical tappets, shim-adjustable mechanical tappets (which require shims for proper fit when necessary), and mechanical roller tappets (cup-shaped with rollers).
